Privacy Policy
Effective 5 October 2026
A Day Kept is a private diary provided by FrozenL Studio. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.
Information you create
The app stores the diary information you choose to enter, including entry text, dates, happiness ratings, favourites, optional location text, timestamps, and deletion records. It also stores app settings and the sync and encryption metadata needed to provide the features you enable.
Storage on your device
Diary data is stored locally on your device. App lock is optional. When you enable it, entry content is encrypted at rest using a key protected by your PIN or passphrase; entry dates and update timestamps remain readable so the app can list and synchronize entries. When App lock is off, local diary data is not encrypted by A Day Kept. Your device operating system may provide its own storage protection.
Biometric authentication
If you enable fingerprint or face unlock, authentication is performed by Android and the device keystore. A Day Kept receives the authentication result and access to a protected encryption key. It does not receive or store your fingerprint, face image, or biometric template.
Optional Google Drive backup
Google Drive connection is optional. If you enable it, the app requests access only to
its own hidden application-data folder in your Google Drive. It uploads a file named
diary-sync.json containing your diary entries and synchronization metadata.
The Drive copy is stored as plain text and is not protected by the app-lock encryption.
A Day Kept uses Google authorization tokens to perform synchronization; native access
tokens are kept in memory or in Google's authorization cache rather than stored in the
diary database.
Google processes this data under its own privacy terms. Disconnecting Google Drive in the app stops synchronization but does not delete the existing Drive copy or revoke the Google authorization grant. You can manage the grant and hidden app data through your Google Account and Google Drive settings.
Sharing and tracking
FrozenL Studio does not operate a server that receives your diary entries. The app does not sell personal data, show advertising, or include analytics or cross-app tracking. Data is sent to Google only when you choose to use Google Drive backup. Google Play and your device manufacturer may independently process installation, security, crash, or diagnostic information under their own privacy policies.
Backups, retention, and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Exported backup files remain wherever you choose to save them. Google Drive backup data remains until you delete the hidden app data using Google Drive controls. FrozenL Studio cannot view or delete local or Drive diary data on your behalf because it does not possess that data or your Google authorization credentials.
Children
A Day Kept is not directed to children under 13, and FrozenL Studio does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a developer-operated service.
Security
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect diary data, but no device or storage system is completely secure. Keep your device protected and retain your recovery passphrase and any exported backups. A forgotten app-lock secret cannot be recovered by FrozenL Studio.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app's features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be revised when changes are published.
